Make an impact

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing general accounting functions for multiple real estate funds and their portfolios of single-family properties. This position is also responsible for cash management,

reconciliation of subsidiary accounts, analysis of accounts and transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, and performing month-end close as well as supporting financial statement preparation and lender reporting by

performing the following duties.

· Monitoring the receipt of bills and reviewing for accuracy and completeness in accordance with established policies and procedures and ensuring that job cost accounting is accurately maintained for each property. Assist in

month-end closings, preparation and entry of monthly journal entries, account

reconciliations, and maintenance of subsidiary ledgers.

· Monitoring and reviewing rent payment postings and sweep rent payments on a periodic basis according to lender requirements. Managing cash balances across all portfolio bank accounts and making transfers among accounts as necessary to meet forecast cash requirements.

· Synchronize financial data from the property management system to the

accounting system. Perform bank reconciliations in accounting system to

ensure accuracy and completeness of data transfer. Correct errors as needed and identify items for further research and resolution by property managers.

· Loan accounting which includes recording of monthly waterfall activity,

maintenance of escrow accounts and submission of HOA, property tax, CAPEX and insurance reimbursement requests.

· Loan compliance including developing custom reporting and inquiries utilizing PowerBI, Excel, and accounting systems to satisfy monthly and quarterly

reporting requirements.

What You should bring

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting with (3) years of real estate, and residential property management experience or equivalent

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents

. Ability to respond to common inquiries from lenders, regulatory agencies, or other members of the business community. Effectively present

information to top management, clients, and lenders

· Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and perform cash forecasting, planning, and management. Follow and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Advanced knowledge of Excel, data import and data export for additional analysis, proficiency with Pivot tables, including VLOOKUP and other advanced Excel functions. Experience with QuickBooks, Office 365, and PropertyWare, Yardi or a similar property management system is strongly preferred.
