POSITION SUMMARY

G&J Pepsi-Cola is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant who will report directly to the Controller. The candidate must have experience in fixed asset accounting.   This position will have an active role in the financial close process, working with stakeholders to prepare entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and research financial results. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in accounting principles, is highly motivated, and demonstrates a high degree of integrity.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain fixed asset register and record depreciation entries
  • Prepare journal entries for period close
  • Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet reviews
  • Inspect books for accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Candidate must have experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • An ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience in the accounting profession.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles and theory along with an understanding of US GAAP.
  • Proven strong quantitative and analytical skills, including demonstrating experience identifying, defining, and resolving complex problems.
  • Capable of working independently with little direction from management; self-motivated.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite:  Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP and IF statements required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel Pivot Tables required; ability to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of Blackline product suite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of D365 FinOps is a plus.
